LeRoy Poignant, the companies founder, built the business around establishing a strong reputation with clients for being honest, trustworthy and fair. Now, more than two decades later, that legacy continues as his son, Grant, takes over the family business. In January 2023, when Grant took over, LeRoy establlished his own trucking company, operating under Poignant Enterprises. His fleet consists of six trucks that exclusively transport logs for Poignant Logging. That additional power means Poignant Logging is able to keep six trucks in operation full time.

Grant started working with his dad in early 2001, then on a full time basis in 2016, and recently took the reins over in January 2023. Together, Grant and his father, have created a reputation and culture that encompass what makes Poignant Logging one of the most recognized logging operations in all of the Midwest. Grant oversees the log side of the business, brokering and negotiating deals, manages the logging inventory and continues to innovate the business and contributions to his industry and local community.
